About Us
The Diversity Summit is an initiative of the  Hispanic American Center Hanover (HACH) and is possible through the collaborative efforts of staff from the following agencies: TrueNorth Wellness Services Inc., Southeastern School District, Southwestern School District, UPMC for You, Guthrie Memorial Library, Hanover Area Council of Churches and York Jewish Community Center.

The Diversity Summit was created, in part, to elicit ideas for how HACH can support the community and industry to realize the goal of developing a more diverse and inclusive community. To that end, The Summit Planning Committee, in 2008, expressed unequivocal support to HACH to take a leadership role in this regard.

In 2008, the Diversity Summit Committee administered a survey in the York and Adams County, Pennsylvania area to identify the needs of all sectors within our community related to diversity education. Five hundred (500) surveys were distributed with a response of 375 stating a need to improve understanding of diversity within their workforce.

Since the implementation of the surveys, seven Diversity Summits have been implemented. However, the initial plan was to provide a onetime event. As a result of positive feedback from the participants, the summit has now been established as an annual regional event in Pennsylvania. Over 400 professionals from York, Hanover, Lancaster, Philadelphia, Erie, Reading, Bloomsburg, Washington D.C., Florida, and Houston Texas have attended the event.   We are heading toward our eIghth event with new and innovative ideas.  Join us today on the continuance of making a change in many industries, but most important, in our youth and overall community members.

For further information regarding the summit, please contact Mirna Wildasin, Founder and Chair Person of HACH's Annual Diversity Summit at 717-688-4200.
